Unlike traditional platforms that mandate student profiles and intrusive tracking, SciCraft 2D operates with zero unnecessary data collection:
- No Required Accounts: Every interactive laboratory, physics game, and simulation is freely accessible without creating an account or providing an email address.
- No Sensitive Personal Information: We do not ask for or collect names, ages, school districts, or physical locations.
- No Behavioral Ad Profiling: We do not sell personal data to advertisers, nor do we run cross-site tracking pixels or commercial ad retargeting networks.
3. Client-Side Browser Storage & Level Serialization
SciCraft 2D preserves game achievements, star progression, and audio preferences strictly inside your local browser via HTML5 localStorage. This data never leaves your device:
- Local Progress: Level stars, mute settings, and high scores are stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time by wiping browser history.
- Shareable Experiment Links: Custom experiment parameters and challenge levels created in our tools are encoded directly into the web URL query string or fragment. No level data is saved to a central database without explicit user request.
4. Classroom Standards: COPPA & FERPA Compliance
SciCraft 2D is designed from the ground up to respect school safety standards worldwide, including the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Because no personally identifiable student records are collected or maintained, school districts and teachers can deploy SciCraft 2D across Chromebooks and classroom devices safely without parental consent forms.
